No. A condition-and-value survey is designed primarily for underwriting and valuation. A pre-purchase survey is broader and is conducted for a buyer evaluating a transaction, typically with haul-out and operational trial.
Some carriers require an out-of-water inspection, while others may accept an in-water survey depending on vessel age, material, and value. Confirm with the requesting party before scheduling.
A current report requires a new inspection. Existing reports, maintenance records, and refit documentation can be reviewed as background but do not replace direct observation.
